What I decided to eat
Two Sunny Side Up Eggs with Corned Beef Hash, Homestyle Potatoes, and Biscuit
Listen, this may seem like the most basic breakfast someone could eat, and I would agree with you if I were having this exact breakfast anywhere else. However, here, food just feels like your momma or grandmomma is back in the kitchen cooking. This was my first meal in Sedona after a long drive from Phoenix and it is exactly the culinary hug I needed.
My friend across the table had a waffle and a similar breakfast to mine with the exception of the potatoes as he opted for grits instead. The corned beef hash was flavorful and not greasy at all. I ate my potatoes which were tossed in onions with a mixture of ketchup and hotsauce because that’s really the only way to eat them. What surprised us what the tall comically large square biscuit.
This was not out of the box. It had the consistency of a Johnnycake and was delicious with the strawberry jam packets on the table. It made me wish I had asked for biscuits and gravy instead. I washed the meal down with some iced water and two cups of coffee served in a whimsical square mug.

What we ordered
Lamb Adobo
Colorado Lamb Shank Braised In A Red Curry Sauce With Cotija Cheese And White Beans
Talk about meat that just falls off the bone! Aside from the presentation, this is one entree that I probably wouldn’t share with anyone the next time. It was that good. I seriously had forgotten that I was eating beans and not mashed potatoes. I found the position size to be decent to share. The sauce and texture reminded me of Mexican mole.

High Country Shrimp and Grits
Crispy Pork Belly And Shrimp With Cheese Grits And Buttery Leeks
To be fair my friend and I were more interested in the crispy pork belly that was sprinkled over the shrimp and grits. The entire entree was nice with delicate flavors. The cheese grits were smooth and just right. If you haven’t had leeks, you’re missing out. It’s a great take on a surf n’ turf.

Hot Banana Churros
Salted Caramel Ice Cream With Homemade Banana Bread
I’m a chocolate cake dessert kind of gal, but I was convinced to try the Hot Banana Churros. A scoop of salted caramel ice cream sat on a thin slice of banana bread, with a dollop of whipped cream and sliced strawberries in the center and at the other end churros stuffed with a banana filling topped with a caramel drizzle sitting on a second thin slice of banana bread. I know this sounds like a LOT of banana, but somehow it’s balanced. Best enjoyed with your favorite person.

Creekside Old Fashioned with Orange Bitters and a Bordeaux Cherry
This is from Chef Mercer's Bourbon Barrel cocktails menu.
Get a proper drink when you are sharing a meal with me. Wine would have been the easy choice with this meal, but I can never turn down an old fashioned. It’s the kind of drink you have to enjoy slowly over a conversation and forgetting that the world is on fire for a moment while looking Sedona’s Red Rock from the outdoor patio. The perfect way to end your evening.

What I ate
Chilaquiles Con Chorizo And Some Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
The chilaquiles are crispy tortillas with eggs, curtido, arugula, sour cream topped with queso fresco. I'd like to think of them as breakfast nachos. I can never turn down chorizo so that was my meat of choice. Get them with sunny side up eggs so the yolk runs nicely over the crispy tortillas. The arugula adds a nice touch. I enjoyed this out in the patio bar overlooking a garden. It was the perfect way to start the day.
This meal wasn't heavy at all. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a nice touch, and although it wasn't a tall glass, I was still content as it was delivered with my food and was refreshing. It’s nice when the oranges don’t taste dead. I skipped the cocktail, but I did taste my friend's Espresso Martini made with Bailey's Irish Cream which was heavenly. I wish I weren’t driving.
My friend had the smoked salmon eggs benedict. They looked good and based on the moans, I bet it was delicious, too.

My go-to drink
Buddha’s Journey Keto Latte
Rose Vibes, Espresso, Keto Brainz, Shilajit, and Cinnamon
If you’re a bulletproof coffee drinker, you will definitely love this latte. I’m not into keto or anything, but I needed something to help me for the second hike at Sedona View Airport Trail. I made the mistake of going to West Fork at Oak Tree Trail without a strong cup of courage and I felt it.
This latte had Keto Brainz, which provides clarity, focus without the crash and more importantly the jitters. If you look at the ingredients, it does include 8mg of MCT Oil. I rarely add any sweetener to my coffee anymore, but this time I opted for monkfruit sweetener.
It also included Rose Vibes, which to be honest, didn’t really taste like anything either. All I know is that the coffee did it’s job.
So why should you get this latte? Because it’s good and you should always support your local coffee house.
Immunity Ginger Shot
Ginger, Lemon Juice, Turmeric And Honey
On our second and last visit, I also grabbed an immunity shot. Allergies were starting to kick my ass and I needed something quick. You know the ginger has kicked in when your esophagus is on fire. Cleared my sinuses within minutes.

Conclusion
So there you have it – three restaurants and one cafe ready to tantalize your taste buds! From cozy cafes like The Coffee Pot, to Creekside American Bistro with its stunning views, to the rustic chic Pump House Station Urban Eatery and Market, and the vibrant oasis of The Rose Vortex Cafe, there is something for everyone.
